Title
Fressingfield Water Tower 1953
Description
Fressingfield Water Tower 1953
NB. SARA has received correspondance from British Water Tower Appreciation Society (Archives) as follows:
". . . this is not Fressingfield Water Tower! Fressingfield Water Tower was built in 1955 and is a slender tower with central service shaft and 12 legs… (see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2712712)
There are four water towers in Suffolk of the design pictured under construction, that I'm aware of, all built about 1953: Dennington TM 27161 66726, Framlingham TM 29938 63491, Blythburgh TM 45367 74244 and Freston TM 17328 38768. Looking at the construction photograph, I feel it is unlikely to be Blythburgh, but landscapes change… and it's over 60 years ago!!!
It would be wonderful if we could identify the tower under construction. "
