Description
The author of these notes was Harry Claude Rush whose father was Stradbroke's Police Sergeant from 1909 to 1919. In 1971 Claude recounted the drought that hit Stradbroke in 1921, a time before piped water was available and when streams, springs, and ponds were the village's water supplies.
This beautifully written account takes us back to a time when life was very different and provides a first hand account what life was like then. MTR
