In Memory of Private Eli Holmes of the 1st Btn, Suffolk Regiment who died on the 25th May 1915.

Eli was born in 1891 to Henry and Elizabeth Holmes of New Street, Stradbroke. Eli had 7 siblings - 3 brothers and 4 sisters and a half sister. On the 1911 census return he is shown to be a Farm Labourer in the home of his father who is by this time a widower aged 51.
